Jimmie Prince is Veteran of the US Army having served at several bases in Korea, Panama and the continental United States. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a Licensed Social Worker that has worked with juvenile and youth populations for over thirty years with state and county agencies. He and his wife Gail will celebrate 34 years on marriage in August of this year. He is the father of a fantastic young adult daughter. City of Lewisville: Minor Housing Rehab Program

Elena Shehan is the current Grants Coordinator for the City of Lewisville's Neighborhood and Inspection Services Department. Elena has been with the City in this position for 10 months, her role oversees the portion of the Community Development Block Grant funding set aside for public infrastructure improvements for the City of Lewisville. Current public infrastructure projects for the City of Lewisville include; the design and rehab of 2 local nonprofit buildings, park equipment and design for the new Glory Park, redesign costs for a complete street on Southwest Parkway, a multifamily accessibility program, and the Minor Housing Rehabilitation Program of which she will be discussing today. Prior to this role, she was in a supervisory role at local nonprofits focused on housing, homelessness, and domestic violence. She has worked in homelessness and housing services on city, county, and statewide levels in both Texas and Arizona and has a passion for making housing affordable, available, and accessible for all. Come and EAT IT 2024 is here, and we're cooking up a storm of fun, flavor, and foodie excitement on March 28, 2024! Join over 800 students for an epic culinary adventure where they will unleash their inner chef, explore fresh and nutritious food, and create tasty memories. 🍳🥦🎉 We look forward to seeing Lewisville Morning Rotary on March 28, 2024 for our annual cooking program, Come and EAT IT!
This year, over 800 students will be participating during this one-day event to celebrate National Nutrition Month.
Your organization will have a front row seat as "sous chefs" for the event!

Introduction and Police Department Update

Chief Brook Rollins was sworn in as the Lewisville Police Chief on February 1, 2024. Before Lewisville, Chief Rollins enjoyed a successful 22-year tenure with the Arlington Police Department. There Chief Rollins served as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective, SWAT officer, CID supervisor, SWAT supervisor, Technical Services Commander, Patrol Commander, Personnel & Recruiting/Training Commander, and UAS Program Manager. Chief Rollins finished his career at APD as a Deputy Police Chief where he oversaw the Investigative & Tactical Support Division.
Rollins is a graduate of Coppell High School. He and his wife have been married to wife, Christy, for 21 years. They recently moved to Lewisville. They have three children. |

Thomas Rhodes is the District Executive for the Orion District of the Longhorn Council. He is a proud Eagle Scout who recently moved from Georgia to Texas. While in Georgia, he gained work experience in marketing and sales management. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, playing chess and roller skating. During his undergraduate degree, he created a nonprofit organization that grew to 1000 members and three sponsors before the end of the 2nd quarter of operations. Intro: Jeff Lighton |

DG Pat Peters, DGE Andy Eads, and DGN Jon Bullock are delighted to announce the upcoming 2024 District Assembly and Conference, set to take place on April 26th and 27th at the Embassy Suites in Denton. This year marks a special occasion as both the District Assembly and the District Conference will coincide over the same weekend, aiming to encourage greater participation from our members. While primarily tailored for Club and District Leadership, these sessions are designed to benefit all Rotarians seeking to enhance their understanding and engagement within their club and the District.
The Conference will conclude with a solemn moment of remembrance for our fallen veterans, culminating in a dinner where we'll acknowledge the outstanding contributions of clubs and individuals throughout the District. Lewisville Lovepacs

Born out of a desire to help children in need, Lovepacs was created in order to provide meals to students, who would otherwise go hungry during school holidays. Through coordination with local schools and its volunteers, Lovepacs engages communities to feed children as an expression of love. Alex Ward serves as a chapter co-lead for Lovepacs Lewisville along with Hillery Cross, where she spends her time working on the more financial side of things for the organization. |

We are looking for volunteers!May 14th (4pm to 8pm)There will be a volunteer appreciation dinner being served to support our Local Salvation Army's volunteers. David Burdick, will be heading up the dinner and is looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen and/or service. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside Chef David and prepare the coursed dinner for the estimated 50–60 volunteers. This is a non-rotary event, but David wanted to extend the opportunity to anyone in our club that would be willing to help. We will accept members and family members. We will find a service opportunity for anyone that would like to join. Food prep and cooking will be limited to adults 18 and over. We can utilize teens in service capacity on the day of service (May 14th) Let's help support a local Rotarian (Lewisville Noon) and make this a fantastic dinner for those that serve in great capacity. |

Learn more about Lewisville Park Alliance About Cindy: As an outdoor-loving child of the 70's, Cindy spent much of her youth in local recreation centers and public parks. Having a place to play and learn had a major impact on the rest of her life. Cindy is retired, but spent years working with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Susan G. Komen, as well as spending years volunteering with youth organizations and working with Irving and Lewisville PARD. Most recently, she served on the Lewisville Park board through the building of Thrive multigenerational recreation center. She resides in Lewisville and is married to City of Lewisville Councilman William Meridith. |

Host:Charlene Dierks Debbie Jensen was named Executive Director of CASA of Denton County in August 2018 after working for the program for six years in other roles. Debbie began her involvement with CASA in 2001, joining the CASA of West Texas program as a volunteer Advocate. Debbie holds a Master of Science in Family Studies from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Austin College. She worked in journalism for 10 years in West Texas before discovering CASA. She and her late husband, Brian, raised 6 children, including 2 adopted from the Texas foster care system. |

Host: Deanna Perkins Ms Karen’s Community Closet was founded by Karen Davis, a longtime Lewisville entrepreneur. She is the owner of KD Salon and Karen Davis Floral Decor & Design. In her businesses, she’d hear of people struggling and used her personal funds to help. Eventually, her efforts were noticed and her customers, plus others, joined her efforts with donations. Karen has a sincere desire to bring compassionate and practical aid that promotes humanity, so that the individuals we serve feel valued. Patty Driver has created Kids Who Rock Camps to provide an amazing setting for cool kids who love music, art & fun. Kids Who Rock focuses on empowering teens and younger through music and arts |
