The Lewisville ISD (LISD) Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Lori Rapp as Superintendent of Schools on February 15, 2022. Rapp has worked for LISD her entire career, joining the district in 1996 as a secondary mathematics teacher at The Colony High School.

She progressed into an administrative role after serving as a Secondary Math Teacher on special assignment, providing professional learning and instructional support for secondary math teachers. In 2008, she was named LISD’s Director of PreK-12 Curriculum, where she served for three years before being named Executive Director of Learning Design and Support. In 2015, Dr. Rapp was selected as the district’s Chief Learning and Teaching Officer, overseeing the district’s elementary and secondary curriculum and programs, digital learning, professional learning, special education, and assessment and accountability.

Dr. Rapp served LISD as Deputy Superintendent since 2017 before her appointment as Superintendent. During her tenure in LISD administration, Dr. Rapp led a team that accomplished remarkable milestones. She had a pivotal role in developing unique learning pathways for students, including the establishment of LISD’s Programs of Choice, which includes the LISD STEM Academy at the elementary and middle school levels, the Collegiate Academy at TCHS, robust world language programs, the tuition-based Discovery Academy, and more.

Dr. Rapp is widely recognized as a respected educational leader across the district and across the state, noted for not only her deep knowledge of curriculum and instruction, but for her ability to lead change in a collaborative way.

In 2008, she received LISD Administrative Support Employee of the Year award, was awarded a Texas PTA Lifetime Membership in 2019, was nominated as a Local Star to participate in the United Way Tribute gala in 2020 and was featured as an inspiring Leader by the Texas Association of School Administrators in 2021. Captain Lee Noble, Lewisville Police Department

"Call of the Wild Child"

Nov 07, 2024

WL “Lee” Noble was born in a small town near a huge Texas metropolitan city. Lee is the eldest of 5 children to a lonely 16-year-old mother who fell for her older violent and unattached first love. When he was about 3 years old, Lee’s father, Sonny, and his mother eventually went their separate ways. She wasn’t equipped to be a mother, nor did she have the wherewithal to take care of herself. She had to find her own way because her mother (Lee’s grandmother) was murdered on Lees mother’s 3rd birthday. Lee’s mother was with her at the time of the incident when her ex-boyfriend shot her as they attended a carnival. This desperate and horrid family history would become a dance that would engulf Lee’s internal being for his entire life.  In “The Call of the Wild Child” Lee candidly reveals how he overcame his harrowing circumstances and brought vital awareness to the subject of physical and mental abuse in the face of family domestic violence.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing at Walmart
Nov 30, 2024 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Thank you for volunteering to be a bell ringer for The Salvation Army Lewisville!  Your generous support helps us meet individuals at their point of need by providing both immediate support and a pathway to long-term stability.

Information about your shift:

1. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your shift and dress for the weather (in layers) as you will be outside, festive attire is always welcome!

2. There is a QR code on the sign for people to scan and donate at their convenience. The QR code directs them to The Salvation Army's Red Kettle donation page.

3. Please ring with a smile, and look shoppers in the eye and wish them all a "Merry Christmas" and thank them if they donate. Feel free to play Christmas music on your device or an instrument, make it fun!

4. After your shift, please wait until the next ringer arrives OR if you're the last shift, wait for the Runner to pick up your kettle. If the next bell ringer is not onsite 10 minutes before the start of the next shift, please call them, their name and number are on the kettle slip. Call Lee Dryja 469-222-6771 with any concerns.

5. If you're the last shift of the day, the Caller will inform you of the name of the Runner that will pick up the full kettle when your shift is over and drop off clean kettle and apron kit for the next day. The last shift of the day will need to return the tripod, sign and clean kettle etc. to the in-store location.

As a volunteer, you are critical to the success of all our programs. The donations collected are used for:

*Providing food (hot lunch & food pantry), shelter, hygiene items and financial assistance to those in need.

*Providing educational programs and counseling for abuse and addiction to help build a pathway to long-term stability.

*Responding to local and national disasters to help survivors recover and rebuild their lives. You can learn more by visiting: What We Do.

We can always use more bell ringers, please encourage friends & family to visit RegisterToRing.com to sign up. We are so very grateful you chose to donate your time with The Salvation Army Red Kettle, have fun ringing in Christmas!
